HOME MADE CHANA DAL
Soak Chana Dal in water for two hours. Place dal, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, asofoetida powder and salt in a heavy bottomed vessel. Cook it for 15-20 minutes till dal is done. Heat vegetable oil in a sauce pan. Crackle cumin seeds & mustard seeds. Add curry leaves, cooked dal and hot water. Simmer for 5 minutes and serve piping hot.
